The UK Conference of Chinese Medicine 2024

June 29 - June 30

The British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (RCHM) have joined forces for their 2024 annual event.

Programme announced!

We are excited to share the conference programme, which has been curated so that it has relevance to both acupuncture and herbal medicine. Every session is open, understandable and immensely useful to all, no matter your background.

Acupuncture and herbal medicine meet at the point of the practitioner. Accordingly, we have placed the practitioner and clinical applications at the heart of this conference. From fertility to cancer support, PCOS to chronic inflammation, NHS integration to teaching dietary self-help, this year’s conference has it all!

Conference theme

Our theme for the conference in 2024 will be the Chinese concept yì (意) which can be translated as intention, wish or purpose.

As practitioners we often first come across  yì as the spirit of the spleen. We learn that this spirit in its pathological state is si 思, sometimes translated as ‘overthinking’.

Yi sits between thought and feeling, between consideration and action and between intellectual learning and the direction of energy. Hence, it is a perfect symbol of our medicine which is epitomised by its ability to capture the dynamic interplay between the rational and the intuitive. Read more.
